Coats by the door, not on the chair

Stand it inside the front door or in a bedroom corner, and the coats, bags and hats that end up on chairs get their own place. The branches sit at different heights, so a long coat and a cap both have room.

Solid birch, branch by branch

The stem and the branches are solid birch with rounded ends. Choose the natural wood, a walnut tone or white, and it stands on a splayed base without any wall mounting.

Description

A freestanding coat rack shaped like a young tree, with short branches up the stem for coats, hats, scarves and bags. It stands in an entryway, a bedroom corner or next to a desk, wherever there's no wall for hooks.

It's made of solid birch and stands 68.9 inches tall on a splayed base 15.7 inches wide. At 6.4 lb it's light enough to move from room to room. Choose Natural Birch, Walnut or White.

Simple assembly is required, and there's nothing to drill or mount on a wall.

How tall is it?

It stands 68.9 inches tall on a base about 15.7 inches wide, so it fits under a standard 8 foot ceiling with plenty of room to spare.

Does it need to be mounted on the wall?

No. It stands on its own base, so there is nothing to drill.

Is it hard to put together?

Simple assembly is required. Set it up on a flat floor so it stands straight.

Will it lean with heavy coats on it?

Spread the weight over the branches on all sides. Several heavy coats on one side can make any freestanding rack lean.

How do I clean and care for it?

Dust it once a week with a dry cloth.

Wipe marks with a slightly damp cloth and dry the wood right away. Don't soak it or use harsh cleaners.

Keep it out of strong sun and away from radiators, and hang wet coats up only once they have stopped dripping, so water doesn't sit on the wood.
