In the room

A counter mat that takes the water off your dishes

Gray dish drying mat on a kitchen counter under a coffee maker, next to the sink

Beside the sink or under the coffee maker

Lay it flat on the counter next to the sink and set clean glasses, plates and pans on it to drain. It works just as well as a fixed pad under a coffee maker, a pet bowl or a dish rack, where it catches the drips before they reach the counter. When the dishes are put away, roll it up and slide it into a drawer.

Soft diatomite on top, rubber underneath

The top layer is soft diatomite with a nanofiber surface. It pulls water off dishes on contact and then dries out quickly itself, so it does not sit there damp like a cloth towel. The soft top also cushions glassware and ceramics against chips, and the rubber backing keeps the mat from sliding under heavy pots.

Description

A dish drying mat for the counter next to the sink. The top is soft diatomite with a nanofiber surface that soaks up the water running off clean glasses, plates and pans, then dries out again on its own. It's a flexible mat, not a hard stone slab, so you can roll it up and put it in a drawer when you want the counter clear.

A non-slip rubber backing keeps it from sliding under heavy pots, and the soft top cushions glassware and ceramics. It also works under a coffee maker, a pet bowl or a dish rack to catch drips.

Choose small, 15.7 by 19.7 inches, or medium, 19.7 by 23.6 inches, in black, blue, gray, white or green. To clean it, wipe it down or rinse it with mild dish soap and hang it to air dry. Don't put it in the washing machine or the dryer. Free shipping within the US.

Which size should I get?

Go by the free counter space next to your sink. Small covers 15.7 in x 19.7 in / 40 cm x 50 cm and Medium covers 19.7 in x 23.6 in / 50 cm x 60 cm. If you dry pots and pans as well as glasses, the extra room of the Medium helps.

Is it a hard stone mat, or can I roll it up?

It is a soft, flexible mat, not a rigid slab. You can roll it up and keep it in a drawer whenever you want the counter clear.

Does it slide around on a wet counter?

The back is non-slip rubber that grips the counter. The mat holds steady under heavy pots and pans.

Does it stay wet after a load of dishes?

The diatomite surface is super absorbent and quick drying. It takes up the water that runs off your dishes and then dries out itself. After a big load, hang it up so air can get to both sides.

Can I use it for something other than dishes?

Yes. It also works under a coffee maker, a pet bowl or a countertop appliance, where it protects the surface from drips and spills.

How do I clean and care for it?

Wipe the mat down after use. When it picks up marks, rinse it with a mild detergent and hang it to air dry.

For dried coffee or food stains, work a little mild detergent into the spot with a soft cloth, rinse, and let the mat dry completely before you roll it up. Do not put it in the washing machine or the tumble dryer.

Use it on a flat kitchen counter and store it rolled in a drawer once it is dry.
