Description

A tall, slim tea canister in handmade stoneware with a rough, textured finish you can feel under your fingers. The ceramic lid has a plug on the underside that fits into the narrow neck, and a sculpted knob on top. Because each one is made by hand, the knob, the color and the surface vary a little from piece to piece, so yours won't match the photos exactly.

It comes in two shapes. The Small is 7.7 inches tall and 2.6 inches wide, a good height for a low shelf or a tea tray. The Large is taller and slimmer at 10 inches tall and 2.2 inches wide. Both heights include the lid. The finishes are Natural (a rusty bronze top that fades to stony gray), Green (turquoise speckled with rust brown) and Black (a dark charcoal with a sandy texture).

Use it for loose leaf tea, coffee beans or whole spices, and keep it away from the stove, kettle steam and direct sun. When you change the tea, rinse the jar and lid by hand with warm water and let both dry completely before you refill it. Free shipping within the US.

What is the difference between the Small and the Large?

The shape. The Small is 7.7 in / 19.5 cm tall and 2.6 in / 6.5 cm across. The Large is taller and slimmer, 10 in / 25.5 cm tall and 2.2 in / 5.5 cm across. Both heights include the lid.

The capacity is not listed, so pick by where it will stand: the Small for a low shelf or a tea tray, the Large where you have height to spare.

Does the lid seal?

The ceramic lid is listed as airtight. It has a plug on the underside that fits into the neck of the jar, which keeps light, air and kitchen moisture away from the tea.

Yes. Each one is handmade stoneware, so the texture, the color of the finish and the shape of the lid knob vary a little from piece to piece. Yours will not look exactly like the photos.

Can I store something other than tea in it?

Yes. It is made for loose leaf tea and other dry goods, such as coffee beans or whole spices.

How do I clean and care for it?

Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth when it gets dusty. The textured finish does not need polishing.

When you change the tea, empty it and rinse the jar and the lid by hand with warm water. Let both dry completely with the lid off before you refill it, since loose tea takes on moisture.

Keep it away from the stove, kettle steam and direct sun. Lift the lid by the knob gently, as it is part of the ceramic and can chip if it is knocked.
