Description

A pen holder shaped from walnut wood, with the grain running in dark and light bands down each side. It holds pens, pencils, a ruler or a pair of scissors, and keeps the clutter of a desk to one small spot, at home or at the office.

There are three shapes. The square pot with a wide opening is 3.1 x 3.1 inches and 3.9 inches tall. The angled pot, with a sloped top, is 3.5 x 2.7 inches and 4.3 inches tall. The slim square pot with a round opening is 2.6 x 2.6 inches and 4.3 inches tall.

Each one is plain, with no fittings, so it sits easily beside oak, linen and stoneware. The natural grain varies from piece to piece. Pens and pencils in the photos are not included. Free shipping within the US.

Which shape holds the most?

The square pot with the wide opening has the biggest opening, so it's the one for scissors, a ruler and a handful of pens. The slim square pot with the round opening suits a few pens and pencils. The angled pot sits in between.

How much of a pencil sticks out?

The pots are 3.9 to 4.3 inches tall, so a standard 7.5 inch pencil stands with a little under half its length above the rim, easy to grab.

Will mine look like the photo?

The shape will. The grain won't match exactly, since every pot is walnut with its own pattern of dark and light bands.

How do I clean and care for it?

Dust it with a soft, dry cloth every week or so, and tip it out now and then to clear pencil shavings from the bottom.

Wipe ink marks with a cloth that's barely damp and dry the wood right after. Don't soak it or put it in the dishwasher. A little wood oil once in a while keeps the walnut from drying out.

Keep it out of strong direct sun and away from a radiator, so the wood keeps its color and doesn't dry out.
