Dust the weave every few weeks with a soft brush, or a vacuum on low with the brush attachment. Woven rattan catches dust in the gaps sooner than a smooth shade does, and dusty strands dull the pattern it throws.

For a mark, use a barely damp cloth and dry the rattan straight after. Never soak it and never spray anything near the socket. Switch the power off at the breaker and let the bulb cool down before you clean it or change it.

Keep it away from steam and out of damp rooms, and out of long hours of direct sun, which fades natural rattan over time.
