One on its own marks a spot with soft light. Two or three at different heights fill the space over a table. You set the drop for each one when it is installed.

The shade is cut from natural alabaster. Unlit, it is a matte, off-white stone. Switched on, the light passes through it and the veins and cloudy patches come out in warm tones. Every piece of stone has its own pattern, so yours will not match the photos line for line. A brass cap and a brass ceiling canopy hold it on a black cord.

A slim pendant light with a shade cut from natural alabaster. Switched off, it's a matte, off-white stone. Switched on, the light passes through it and the veins and cloudy patches show in warm tones. Every piece of stone has its own pattern, so yours won't match the photos exactly.

The shade is 3.9 inches wide and 9.8 inches tall, held by a brass cap and a brass ceiling canopy on a black cord. The hanging length adjusts up to 59 inches and is set during installation. Use one beside the bed instead of a table lamp, or hang two or three at different heights over a kitchen island, counter or entryway.

It's hardwired to a ceiling box on 110-120V, with no plug, and needs some assembly. The bulb isn't included. For indoor use only. Free shipping within the US.

Does it plug in, or does it need to be hardwired?

It is made to be hardwired to a ceiling junction box. The brass canopy covers the box, and there is no plug. It runs on 110 to 120V and needs assembly when it is installed. If you have not wired a ceiling light before, have a licensed electrician make the connection.

Which bulb does it take, and is one included?

The bulb is not included. The socket is listed as E12 / E14. E12 is the standard US candelabra base, so a US candelabra bulb fits.

Will my shade look exactly like the photos?

Not exactly. Alabaster is a natural stone, so the veining, the cloudy patches and the tone differ from one shade to the next. The shape and the brass parts are the same on every light.

How low does it hang?

The hanging length adjusts up to 59 in / 150 cm, and you set it at installation. The shade itself is 9.8 in / 25 cm tall and 3.9 in / 10 cm wide.

Which rooms is it meant for?

It is listed for the bedroom, kitchen, entryway and living room, and it is for indoor use. No moisture rating is listed, so keep it out of bathrooms and away from steam.

How do I clean and care for it?

Dust the stone and the brass with a soft dry cloth every week or two.

For a mark, switch the light off and let the bulb cool first. Wipe the spot with a barely damp cloth and dry it right away. Alabaster is soft and absorbs liquid, so do not soak it and do not use glass cleaner, vinegar or abrasive pads.

Keep it indoors and away from steam and splashes. Handle the shade with both hands when you change the bulb, since stone can chip if it is knocked.
