From the stove to the table

Ladle in noodles and hot broth at the stove and carry the bowl to the table by its two loop handles, without your fingers on the hot sides. It's shallow and wide, so it works as well for pasta, a rice bowl or a big salad as it does for udon or ramen.

Patterned glaze, brown rim

Inside, a pale glaze carries the pattern, in blue lines, blue flowers, pale blossom or pink cherry blossom. The rim and the handles are finished in a thin line of brown, which frames the pattern and gives every bowl a slightly rustic edge.

Description

A shallow ceramic noodle bowl with a small loop handle on each side, so it's easy to carry from the stove to the table even when it's full. The rim is finished in a thin line of brown, and the pale glaze inside carries a Japanese style pattern.

The bowl is 7.5 inches across, 9.3 inches including the handles, and 2.6 inches high, and it holds about 23.7 fl oz. That's room for a portion of noodles in broth, a bowl of pasta or a generous salad. Choose fine blue lines radiating from the center, scattered blue flowers, faint pale pink blossom, or branches of pink cherry blossom.

Each bowl is sold singly, so you can buy one of each pattern or a matching set. Food, chopsticks and the other tableware in the photos are not included. Free shipping within the US.

Is it big enough for a full bowl of ramen?

It holds about 23.7 fl oz, which fits a portion of noodles in broth. It's shallower than a deep ramen bowl, at 2.6 inches high, so it's closer to a wide noodle or pasta bowl.

How big is it with the handles?

The bowl itself is 7.5 inches across, and 9.3 inches from handle to handle.

Is it sold as a set?

No, each bowl is sold singly. Pick the same pattern several times for a matching set, or mix the four patterns.

Is the pattern the same on every bowl?

The pattern is the same design, but small differences in the glaze and the lines from bowl to bowl are normal for glazed ceramic.

How do I clean and care for it?

Wash it with warm water and mild dish soap after each use. The supplier doesn't confirm dishwasher or microwave use, so hand washing is the safe choice.

For stains from broth or curry, soak it in warm soapy water for a few minutes, then use a soft sponge. Skip abrasive pads, which can dull the glaze and the brown rim.

Let a hot bowl cool before rinsing it in cold water, and don't put it on a burner or in the oven.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 1 to 4 business days and arrive in 7 to 12 business days in total. Shipping is free within the US.
