What it does when the floor is wet

The backing is the part that matters

Underneath the pile sits a solid sheet of TPR, not a sprayed on dot pattern that wears off after a few washes. It grips tile, vinyl, sealed stone and sealed wood, so stepping onto the edge on your way out of the shower does not send the mat sliding across the floor.

Sweep or vacuum before you lay it down. Grip works on a clean floor, not on a dusty one.

It takes the water in instead of moving it around

The surface is dense microfiber, so a wet footprint sinks into the pile rather than sitting on top of it in a puddle. Two people can shower one after the other and the top still feels dry underfoot.

Hang it over the tub edge or a hook afterwards and it is ready again the same day.

Low enough for the door to clear it

The pile stands 0.6 in (1.5 cm) tall. High enough to feel soft under bare feet, low enough that most bathroom doors swing straight over it and low enough that there is no lip to catch a toe on.

A microfiber bath mat for the spot where you step out of the shower or tub. The dense microfiber pile soaks up water from wet feet, and the non-slip TPR backing underneath helps it stay put on tile, vinyl, sealed stone and sealed wood.

The pile is 0.6 inches tall, soft underfoot but low enough to clear most bathroom doors. If your door already brushes the floor, check that gap before you order. It comes in two sizes: 15.7 x 23.6 inches for a half bath or the floor under a pedestal sink, and 19.7 x 23.6 inches for the floor in front of a single vanity. Colors are navy, gray, light gray, ivory, khaki, khaki red, coffee and a black and white plaid.

Will it slide around on tile?

The backing is a solid sheet of TPR rather than a sprayed on grip pattern, so it holds on tile, vinyl, sealed stone and sealed wood. Sweep or vacuum the floor first, because the grip works against a clean surface and not against a layer of dust.

Two things will still make it move: a heavily textured floor, and laying it on top of another rug. On a flat clean floor it stays where you put it.

How do I clean and care for it?

Machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors, then tumble dry on low or hang it over the tub edge. Every one to two weeks is about right for the mat you step on daily.

Skip bleach, fabric softener and the iron. Bleach breaks down the fibers, softener coats them so they stop absorbing, and the heat of an iron will damage the TPR backing.

Between washes, shake it out and hang it up after a shower instead of leaving it flat on a wet floor. Air underneath is what keeps it from smelling damp.

Will my bathroom door clear it?

The pile stands 0.6 in (1.5 cm) tall and most interior doors leave more room than that, so the door swings straight over it. If your door already brushes the tile, measure the gap before you order and keep the mat outside the door swing.

Can I use it outside the bathroom?

Anywhere you step onto a hard floor works: in front of the kitchen sink, next to the washing machine, or beside the bed.

It is not made for outdoors or for a spot that stays wet all day. The pile needs air to dry out between uses.

Does the rubber backing mark the floor?

On tile, vinyl and sealed stone the TPR sits flat and leaves nothing behind. On unsealed wood, unsealed cork or a floor that was refinished recently, lift the mat now and then and let both it and the floor dry out rather than leaving it in one spot for months. That goes for any rubber backed mat, not just this one.

How long does shipping take?

You have 30 days from delivery. Email info@qonforta.com with your order number and we send you the return address. The mat has to come back unused and dry, so unroll it and check the fit on the floor before you step on it wet.
