Steady warm white, or turn it down

Warm White holds one brightness and runs off a normal wall switch. Triac Warm Dimming lets you take it down low, but it needs a TRIAC wall dimmer on that circuit, so check what sits behind your switch plate before you choose it. Both versions are the same price, so pick the dimming one if you already have a dimmer or plan to fit one.

A wall sconce made of wood slats over a frosted acrylic panel, so you never look straight at the LED. The 3000K warm white light comes out of the top and the bottom and spreads over the wall in two soft beams, which is enough to light a bedside, a hallway, a living room wall or a dining room. It comes in a darker walnut finish or a lighter natural wood finish.

The LED is built in, can't be replaced and draws about 12W. The Warm White version stays at one brightness and isn't dimmable, so it goes on a regular wall switch. The Triac Warm Dimming version can be turned down, but only on a TRIAC wall dimmer, so check what's behind your switch plate before you choose it. Both versions cost the same.

Is it hardwired, or does it plug in?

It wires into a wall box on 110 to 120V. There is no plug and no cord, so it runs off your wall switch. If there is no box at the spot you have in mind, the wiring has to be brought there first, and that is a job for an electrician.

Can I dim it?

Only the Triac Warm Dimming version, and only on a TRIAC wall dimmer. The Warm White version stays at one brightness on a normal switch. Both cost the same, so the choice comes down to what is behind your switch plate. A dimming fixture on the wrong kind of dimmer tends to flicker or hum, so check the dimmer before you order.

Can I change the bulb?

No, the LED is built in and cannot be swapped. It is rated for 50,000 hours, which at four hours a night comes to more than thirty years on paper. It also means the color stays 3000K warm white, so there is no cool white option on this one.

How high should I mount it?

In a hallway or a living room most people center it 60 to 66 inches above the floor. Beside a bed it usually sits lower, roughly level with your shoulder when you sit up, so the light falls on the page instead of over your head. It stands 3.1 inches off the wall, so it stays clear of a normal walkway.

Is it bright enough to light a whole room?

Not on its own. At around 12W it is built to light a wall, a bedside or a hallway rather than to replace a ceiling light in a living room. In a bedroom or a hall a pair of them, one on each side, does more than a single unit in the middle.

Can it go in a bathroom or outside?

No. It carries no moisture rating and is made for dry indoor rooms. Steam and rain get into the wood and into the wiring. For a porch, a covered entry or a bathroom with a shower in it, pick a fixture with an IP rating.

How do I clean and care for it?

Dust the slats every couple of weeks with a dry microfiber cloth or a soft brush. The gaps between the slats hold dust sooner than a flat surface does, and dust on the diffuser dulls the glow.

For marks, wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry the wood right after. Never spray anything onto the fixture or into the gaps. Switch the power off at the breaker and let the light cool down before you clean it.

Keep it out of bathrooms with a shower and off covered porches. Wood takes on damp air, and the housing is made for dry indoor rooms only.

Is this lamp UL or ETL listed?

No, our lamps are not UL or ETL listed. They are made for standard US outlets (110 to 120V), and plug-in models come with a US plug, so they are ready to use at home.
