Description

The Somos is a small LED spotlight that mounts to the ceiling and has a rotating head, so you can point the light where it is needed: a painting, a kitchen counter, a reading chair or the end of a hallway. At 3.9" across and 3.9" tall it stays out of the way, which makes it a good fit for lower ceilings and spots where a pendant would hang in your line of sight.

The body is aluminum in black or white, with an integrated LED inside the head, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. You pick the light color when you order. Warm White (3000K) suits living rooms and bedrooms, Neutral White (4000K) gives clear, even light for kitchens and home offices, and Cool White (6000K) is the brightest and crispest, handy for closets and work areas.

The fixture is hardwired to a ceiling junction box and runs on standard 110 to 120V household power. It is not dimmable, so wire it to a regular on and off switch. Use one to light a single spot, or a few in a row as accent lighting along a wall or hallway.

In the room

A small spot you can point anywhere

Light the thing, not the whole ceiling

Turn the head toward a painting, a bookshelf or the chair where you read, and the light lands there instead of spreading across the room. A few in a row along a hallway or over a counter give you accent light without putting in a track system.

Aluminum body, LED built in

The housing is aluminum in black or white. The LED sits inside the head, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and you choose its color when you order: warm, neutral or cool white.

Questions people ask about this piece

Still unclear about something? Email info@qonforta.com and a real person answers within 1 to 2 business days.

How big is it on the ceiling?

It is 3.9 inches across and 3.9 inches tall, about the size of a coffee mug. It sits close to the ceiling, so it works in rooms with lower ceilings and in spots where a pendant would be in the way.

Does it need to be hardwired?

Yes. The Somos connects to a standard ceiling junction box and runs on 110 to 120V household power. If you have not done basic wiring before, have an electrician mount it.

Can I aim the light?

Yes. The head rotates, so you can point the light at a painting, a shelf or a reading chair instead of straight down.

Which color temperature should I pick?

Warm White (3000K) gives the soft, yellowish light most people want in living rooms and bedrooms. Neutral White (4000K) is clear and even, good for kitchens and home offices. Cool White (6000K) is the brightest and bluest, best for closets and work areas.

Does it need a bulb, and is it dimmable?

No bulb needed, the LED is built into the head. It is not dimmable, so connect it to a regular on and off switch instead of a dimmer.

How do I clean and care for it?

Dust it every few weeks with a dry microfiber cloth. That is all the aluminum needs to keep looking clean.

For marks or fingerprints, switch the power off first and give the head a few minutes to cool. Then wipe it with a cloth that is barely damp and dry it straight away. Skip sprays, solvents and scouring pads, they can dull the finish.

Use it in dry indoor rooms. Keep it away from showers, steam and outdoor spots.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed in 1 to 4 business days and transit takes 6 to 8 business days, so most orders arrive within 7 to 12 business days. Shipping is free within the United States.
