Hardwired. It mounts on a standard US junction box and wires straight into the wall, so there is no cord and no plug and nothing visible running down to an outlet.

If the spot you have in mind has no box and no wiring behind it, an electrician can add one, usually in under an hour. If you would rather not open the wall, a plug in sconce is the better pick.

Height is the only thing that changes. All four are 2.6 in / 6.6 cm across, so none of them stick out further than the others.

S at 6.3 in suits a narrow hallway or the wall beside a mirror. M at 9.1 in is the size most people hang beside a bed. L at 11 in and XL at 12.6 in hold a wide empty wall or a stairwell, where a short fixture just disappears. When you are between two, go up. A sconce that is slightly too big still reads as deliberate, one that is too small reads as an afterthought.

No bulb is included. It takes a standard E26 screw bulb up to 60W, the same base as most US table lamps, so any hardware store carries one.

Pick a warm white bulb around 2700K to 3000K. That is what the photos show and it is what makes the stone read sandy. A cool white or daylight bulb pushes travertine towards grey and flattens the veining.

The shape and the size will. The veining will not.

Travertine is quarried stone, so the pitting and the banding run differently through every tube. Order two and they will not be twins. Small open pits and colour shifts across the surface are the material doing what it does, not damage and not a defect.

That depends on the bulb, not on the fixture. There is no driver or dimmer built in.

Put a dimmable LED in it and wire it to a dimmer switch and it dims all the way down. A bulb that is not marked dimmable will flicker or buzz on a dimmer, so check the box before you buy it.

Indoors and dry only. It has no outdoor or damp rating, and travertine is a porous stone that drinks up water.

A powder room or a spot well away from the shower is fine. Directly over a tub, inside a steam shower, on a porch or on any exterior wall is not, and neither is a covered patio where rain still blows in.

Dust it every few weeks with a dry soft cloth, the same way you would a stone coaster. The open pits in travertine hold dust, so a soft dry brush gets into them better than a cloth does.

For a mark, first turn the power off at the breaker and let the bulb cool down. Then wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry the stone right away. Keep vinegar, bleach and bathroom cleaners away from it. Travertine is a limestone and acid etches it permanently, which cannot be polished out.

Keep it out of steam and splash. A hallway, bedroom or living room wall is what it is built for. A shower wall or an outside wall is not.
