A wall sconce with a frosted glass globe in front of a metal plate printed with wood grain. The globe spreads the light into an even glow on the wall and the surface below, without a bright spot. Hang it over a console in the hallway, beside a mirror or next to the bed so the nightstand stays clear.

The body is metal, not wood. The grain is applied by water transfer printing, in walnut, a dark reddish brown, or a light honey wood tone. It's 9.8 inches high and 3.9 inches wide, and it stands 5.1 inches out from the wall. Order one, or a pair in the same color to frame a bed or a mirror.

It's hardwired on 110-120V and should be installed by a qualified electrician. It takes a G9 bulb of up to 7W incandescent or the LED equivalent, and a bulb isn't listed as included, so have one ready. It works with a dimmer when you use a dimmable G9 bulb, and the dimmer switch isn't included. It's damp rated for bathrooms and covered outdoor areas, but keep it away from direct water. Does it plug in, or does it need to be wired?

It is hardwired. There is no cord and no plug, so it connects to the wiring in the wall and runs on 110 to 120V. A hardwired fixture should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Which bulb does it take, and can I dim it?

The socket is G9 and takes a bulb of up to 7W incandescent or the LED equivalent. The listing does not state that a bulb comes with the lamp, so have a G9 bulb ready.

It is dimmer compatible. The dimmer switch is not included and has to be part of your wall wiring.

Can I use it in a bathroom or outside?

It is damp rated for bathrooms and covered outdoor areas, such as a porch. Keep it out of direct water, so not inside a shower and not on an open wall where rain can reach it.

Is the body real wood?

No. The body is metal and the wood look comes from water transfer printing on the surface that faces the room. Slight unevenness in the print on the back is normal for that process and is not a defect.

Do I get one lamp or two?

That depends on the option you pick. The option marked with the dimensions is a single lamp. Buy in Pairs is two lamps in the color you choose, which is the usual pick for both sides of a bed or a mirror.

How do I clean and care for it?

Dust the printed plate and the glass ball with a soft dry cloth every week or two.

For fingerprints or marks, switch the lamp off and let the bulb cool first. Wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry it right away. Skip abrasive pads, solvents and spray cleaners, which can dull the printed finish.

It can hang in a bathroom or under a covered porch, but not where water hits it directly. Handle the glass ball with care when you change the bulb.
