A wall sconce with a cone shade of real yellow travertine on a wood wall plate. The cone is open at the bottom, so the light falls onto a desk, nightstand or bench below, with a soft glow down the wall. Travertine is natural stone with small pits across its surface, so the pattern and tone vary a little from one sconce to the next.

It's 7.9 inches tall with a 5.9-inch shade, sized for a bedside wall, a hallway or a reading corner. It works as a reading or accent light rather than the main light in a room.

It's hardwired on 110-120V and has no switch of its own, so it runs off your wall switch. It isn't dimmable, so use a regular switch, not a dimmer. It takes one E26 bulb, not included. You can order it as Warm or Cold. Since no bulb is included, the actual light color comes from the E26 bulb you put in, so pick a warm white or cool white bulb to match. For dry indoor rooms only. Is it hardwired, and where is the switch?

It is wall mounted and hardwired, and it runs on 110 to 120V AC. There is no switch on the fixture, so you turn it on and off with your wall switch. Switch the power off at the breaker before you start, and leave the wiring to a licensed electrician if you have not wired a light before.

Which bulb does it take, and is one included?

It takes 1 bulb with an E26 base, the standard US screw base, and it works with LED bulbs. A bulb is not included, so have one ready before you install it.

What is the difference between Warm and Cold?

They are the two light colors in the listing: warm white, a soft yellowish light, and cold white, a crisper and whiter light. The bulb is not included, and the light color in your room comes from the E26 bulb you fit, so choose a warm white or cold white bulb to match.

How much light does it give, and can I dim it?

It lights about 32 to 54 sq ft / 3 to 5 m², so it works as a reading or accent light rather than as the main light in a room. It is not dimmable, so connect it to a regular on and off switch.

Can it go in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It is for indoor use only, and no IP or damp rating is listed for it. Keep it to dry rooms such as a bedroom, a living room, a hallway or a study.

How do I clean and care for it?

Once every week or two, go over the shade and the wall plate with a dry microfiber cloth. A clean, dry paintbrush lifts dust out of the small pits in the stone.

If something leaves a mark, turn the light off at the wall switch and wait until the bulb is cool. Dab the stone with a cloth wrung out in clean water and pat it dry. Vinegar and descalers eat into travertine, so keep them away from it, and never soak the wood plate.

This sconce is for indoor use only. It does not belong above a shower, a tub or a stove, where steam and grease would reach the stone.
